Wireless Controller Driver Error After It Dies

If the tips above are still not working for fixing “This device cannot start (code 10)” of the 802.11n network adapter on your Windows 10, you might need to wait for a hotfix by Microsoft. If you have any questions on the 802.11n driver or the code 10 error, you can comment below or click the LEFT MENU for more support. After completing the Step 1, visit official Microsoft website and download the Xbox 360 wireless controller and Receiver drivers for Windows 10. After downloading, install the drivers and check if both the Controller and Receiver are working properly and are connected.

[Fix] DS4 controller not connecting to PC via bluetooth using DS4Windows

I don't know where else it's appropriate to post this, so apologies beforehand.

I am pretty sure that I have found the fix where your DS4 controller shuts off instantaneously after trying to connect to the PC. I have had countless hours trying to get the DS4 connected to the PC, resetting and trying various options and lurking through old Reddit posts and forums to get this thing working. I alslo assume that this should fix the 'driver error' popping up from the Bluetooth wireless controller device.

If your controller is disconnecting after trying to pair via Bluetooth, try the following:

  1. Reset your computer or shut down and make sure the controller has adequate charge (anything above 10% should do.)

  2. Delete the wireless controller connection from the list of Bluetooth devices on the Manage Bluetooth device screen.

  3. Open up DS4Windows, go into settings, enable 'Hide DS4 controller' option (may or may not be optional, this is what I found to work.)

  4. Drag the corner of the window and expand it or drag the horizontal scroll until you see the 'Controller/Driver Setup' in blue.

  5. It should give you a UAC popup box with DS4Windows asking for permissions. Click Yes.

  6. Another popup box should appear with a picture of a controller. This is the first screen you encounter when you open DS4Windows for the first time. With the screen open (i.e either minimise or drag the screen out of the way, don't close it!) go to the 'Manage Bluetooth Device' screen and follow the instructions on the DS4Window popup to set up Bluetooth (hold share and PS button for 3 seconds.) When you see the wireless controller, click on it and pair.

  7. By this time, your controller should have paired without it cutting out when Windows recognises the device.

  8. If the controller decides to have some lag and starts flashing red to alert you that lag is over 10ms, close by holding the PS button for 10 seconds and re-pair by pressing the PS button. Alternatively, after about 5 minutes, the controller sometimes quits lagging.

9.Whenever you are done with the controller, ALWAYS TURN IT OFF THROUGH HOLDING THE PS BUTTON FOR 10 SECONDS. Problems will start to arise when you turn off the PC without turning off the controller. In that case, just repeat the steps again.

Driver

If it still doesn't work, another thing you can try is to completely delete the driver software using device manager* and when you get to step 6, install the driver and go through the rest of the steps for pairing.
